water to bush drought relief

At nudie, we’ve made it our mission to help spread goodness wherever we can.

Farmers everywhere have felt the pain and suffering of the devastating effects of the drought. As a result, families have endured tough times, a serious loss of income and an overwhelming loss of livestock and crops.

  • In December 2019, we launched our Water to Bush initiative – a project that has allowed us to gift 25,000 litres of domestic drinking water to drought affected families and farmers each week.

“We deeply feel the pain of all Australian communities struggling in drought-addled regions”, says nudie GM, Jo Semidang. “We’ve been looking for innovative ways to show our support and we hope the Water to Bush initiative helps those affected find a glimmer of hope or relief in such challenging times.”

To date, we have been fortunate enough to complete 16 deliveries to communities within New South Wales. This drinking water has been used to help nourish families, hydrate stock and provide those without access to soft, potable water the ability to enjoy a long shower or pop on a load of washing or two.

  • “This is our home, our haven. We have watched the land turn from green to rusty brown, we have run out of water twice,” says delivery recipient, Glenda, of Cudal NSW. “It’s heartbreaking to see what the drought has done. Not one drop of this water will go to waste.”

These weekly water deliveries would not have been possible without the help and generosity of our delivery partner, Kelsmo Pty Ltd, who have provided the use of their trucks and taken time out of their schedule to complete each delivery themselves.

The stories behind each delivery and the positive impact of the water has touched us all at nudie headquarters. We sincerely hope to continue this initiative into the future.
